Dr. Geraldine Holton is co-founder and co-director of An Croí Wisdom Institute. She is an experienced educator and trainer whose training programmes are highly rated by participants as collaborative and transformative experiences of adult learning. For more than twenty years she has been an innovator of training programmes in Spiritual Guidance, Supervision, Group Facilitation and Soul- Centered Practice. Geraldine focuses on experiential learning that is grounded in sound theory and different ways of knowing.

Supervision

As Director of Ireland’s first Masters programme in Supervision and the Professional Diploma in Cross-Professional Supervision (CPS)™ she is regarded as an innovative leader in the field. She has developed Cross-Professional supervision and the Wisdom Model of supervision as part of her doctoral research.

She is the founding director for the Supervisors Association of Ireland and served as chair of the association for thirteen years and is currently serving as president. Her passion for supervision and her innovative vision has been key in the development of the organisation which is the only association in Ireland to serve supervisors exclusively. She has also been instrumental in creating links with supervision in Europe and establishing reciprocal membership with ANSE (the supervisors association in Europe) for SAI full  members.

Geraldine has been a lecturer in the department of Spirituality at Milltown Institute and Programme Director at All Hallows College. She has developed programmes in spirituality and counselling at both undergraduate and graduate level. Her approach is creative and contemplative finding particular expression in her facilitation of workshops in SoulCollage®, an artistic Jungian process for soul-making. Her work as a psychotherapist is also enhanced by her training in Sand Play Therapist. She is also the originator of SoulGarden™, a creative modality for personal and professional accompaniment.

She is co-editor of “The Soul of Supervision” with Dr. Margaret Benefiel (2010).  Her approach to supervision and to wisdom learning is creative, collaborative, contemplative and compassionate. Her approach permeates all the training programmes at An Croí. She is a trained facilitators of SoulCollage® and offers workshops in this modality and facilitates a monthly SoulCollage®group with participants who have completed the introductory training with Geraldine. Facilitating and fostering wisdom is at the core of her work and this reflects her personal philosophy of wisdom learning. Her psycho-spiritual training contributes substantially to the An Croí Wisdom Institute and its focus on psycho-spiritual training and wellbeing. She is also co-founder of An Croí Beguines with Carmel which is a revisioned contemporary version of the medieval women’s spiritual movement.
